Maddox is all grown up and heading off to college

Angelina Jolie’s oldest son, Maddox, whom she adopted from Cambodia when he was a baby, just started college. Maddox enrolled at Yonsei University in South Korea–and the actress says she couldn’t be prouder of her son’s accomplishments.

“I’m so excited, I feel like my world expands as their world expands. I learn so much from them and I love this stage,” Jolie said.

But Jolie still acted like a typical mom on the first day of school, holding back tears as she left Maddox at his new dorm. Her five other kids tagged along to send their brother off as well.

“What was very beautiful is the way everybody said goodbye. When it was time to take him to the airport — some jumped into the car to take him — and everybody was, it was very…,” Jolie told Entertainment Tonight. “When you know that your kids love each other and you see the way they all — without any kind of prompting or pushing — give each other notes, hug each other, take each other, support each other, then you feel like they’re going to be okay and they’re always going to have each other.”

Jolie is the mother of two other adopted children, as well as three biological children with ex-husband Brad Pitt.
