The 8-Bit Big Band won with a cover of a Kirby Super Star track.
Sunday evening was the 2022 Grammy Awards, where many musical artists prominent and rising took home awards for their work. There was one award victory, however, that proved to be pleasantly surprising, as not only was the award for a cover, but it was a cover a song from a video game that came out in 1996.

The 8-Bit Big Band, an independent orchestra that specializes in covers and arrangements of classic video game music, took home the Grammy for Best Arrangement (Instrument and A Cappella) with their cover of the song “Meta Knight’s Revenge” from Kirby Super Star, originally released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1996. The arrangement was written by Charlie Rosen and Jake Silverman and performed by The 8-Bit Big Band orchestra featuring Button Masher.
