Instagram’s Newest #Upgrade
You are no longer limited to simply following people on Instagram after the major social networking company rolled out their latest feature, following hashtags. This means you can follow a hashtag, or topic, just like you would a person. It’s the same process as following/unfollowing someone’s account, it’s just a broader way to follow the things you love!
You’ll see both top posts and recent stories from the hashtag in your feed. The Verge reports that Matthew Ogle, the man behind the Discover Weekly playlist at Spotify, was the mastermind behind the newest feature on the Gram.
With Facebook on the chopping block with a former VP for the company openly saying that social media is, “ripping apart,” society, it seems Instagram is undeterred. In this social media-driven society, the next hottest feature is anyone’s for the taking…who knows which Goliath will change the game next!
