Get ready for the electric thrill!
In a groundbreaking move, Formula E announces its exclusive broadcasting partnership with TNT Sports for the entirety of the upcoming 2023 season. All 17 races, commencing with the Mexico City E-Prix on January 13, will be broadcast live on TNT Sports, marking a significant shift from previous free-to-air channels.
This strategic decision brings Formula E into uncharted territory, with uninterrupted coverage of every race on TNT Sports and simultaneous access through live and on-demand streaming on discovery+. While this move places Formula E behind a paywall for the first time, the series remains committed to delivering high-quality content to its global audience.
Former professional footballer turned pundit Jermaine Jenas is slated to lead the UK coverage, supported by a seasoned team of presenters, including Nicki Shields and racing pundits Karun Chandhok, Dario Franchitti, and Allan McNish. Tom Brooks, the lead commentator, retains his position after stepping in for Jack Nicholls last season.
Formula E CEO, Jeff Dodds, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “This is incredible news for sports fans in the UK who already watch premium live sports on TNT Sports. From next month, they will get to enjoy the new thrill of Formula E racing, the most competitive motorsport on TV.”

Whisper TV, entrusted with the production of the coverage, plans to enhance the viewer experience with an all-new, hour-long build-up show before each race and a revamped access-all-areas program the night before every race weekend, centered around the Free Practice 1 session.
While this marks the end of the agreement with Channel 4, there is speculation that select rounds could potentially be featured on free-to-air channels, with race-by-race deals being explored as the season progresses.
Formula E highlights its successful 2022/23 season, boasting the highest-ever cumulative audience of live Formula E coverage, witnessing a 4% increase to 225 million compared to the previous season.
