Marvel’s Next Avengers Movie Unites Legendary X-Men Stars, Fantastic Four Heroes, and Iconic MCU Characters for an Epic Showdown
Marvel fans, get ready for the ultimate crossover event! The cast of Avengers: Doomsday has been officially revealed, and it’s bringing together some of the most iconic heroes (and villains) from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe and beyond.
A Star-Studded Marvel Reunion
In a thrilling 5.5-hour livestream, Marvel Studios slowly unveiled an all-star lineup, including returning Avengers, Fantastic Four heroes, and a major X-Men reunion. Among the biggest surprises? Legendary actors Patrick Stewart (Professor X) and Ian McKellen (Magneto) will share the screen once again, joined by fellow X-Men stars Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), Kelsey Grammer (Beast), and James Marsden (Cyclops).

Returning MCU Icons
- Avengers: Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Letitia Wright (Black Panther), Wyatt Russell (U.S. Agent), Tenoch Huerta Mejía (Namor), and Tom Hiddleston (Loki).
- Fantastic Four: Pedro Pascal (Mister Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing).
- Additional heroes: Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), Danny Ramirez (Falcon), David Harbour (Red Guardian), Winston Duke (M’Baku), and Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost).
A New Era for the X-Men
This casting news comes as Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed that the next phase of the MCU will fully integrate the X-Men into the Marvel Universe. With Stewart’s Professor X making his first MCU appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Grammer’s Beast appearing in The Marvels, Avengers: Doomsday is set to push mutant representation even further.
Robert Downey Jr. Returns—But as Doctor Doom
Perhaps the biggest shock of all? Robert Downey Jr. is back in the MCU—not as Tony Stark, but as Victor Von Doom, aka Doctor Doom. This unexpected twist has sent fans into a frenzy, speculating how the iconic villain will factor into the multiversal chaos.
Production and Release Dates
Following the reveal of the full cast, Downey Jr. himself walked onto the set, taking a seat in the final director’s chair before the livestream ended with the words: “Avengers: Doomsday now in production.”
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2026, with its highly anticipated sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, arriving on May 7, 2027.
Marvel Fans, Assemble!
With one of the most ambitious casts in Marvel history, Avengers: Doomsday is shaping up to be a cinematic event unlike any other. Whether you’re a fan of the X-Men, Fantastic Four, or classic MCU heroes, this movie is bringing them all together for the ultimate battle. Get ready—it’s going to be a wild ride!
