Actress Blake Lively is championing the millennial nods in the upcoming Marvel film Deadpool & Wolverine and she’s letting the world know!

Ahead of the film’s release this Friday, Lively, 36, took to social media to express her excitement about the movie’s many millennial references. Known for her role in the soon-to-be-released Colleen Hoover adaptation It Ends With Us, Lively is currently focusing on her husband Ryan Reynolds’ latest project with Hugh Jackman.

“Tell me Deadpool is married to a millennial girl in real life without telling me,” Lively quipped in a video, smiling. “I have never felt more seen.”

In her post, Lively elaborated, “Brb I’m buying milky pens to write your name on my hand @vancityreynolds. My Y2K girlies, I should be competitive because @itendswithusmovie is coming out in 3 weeks BUT when your middle school obsessions, your feelings post baby, or about Nice men who use feminism as a tool, your love of the Wizard of Oz, Succession, Sandy & Danny, driving with Avril blasting, the way the choreography of a certain boy*band song got me, of Baz Luhrmann fireworks to punctuate a moment, even down to the fact that our hair color is determined by seasons and the French method by which it’s painted are all so seen… MY WORD… it’s hard not to encourage my ladies to spot all the ways we’ve influenced @deadpoolmovie I’ve never been more proud. And I’ve given birth 4 times.”

Lively’s post included a photo of her kissing Reynolds on set while he was in full Deadpool makeup, along with a video montage of clips from the movie highlighting various millennial references. These included an Avril Lavigne song, Harry Potter’s sorting hat, a Frozen song title, an NSYNC “Bye Bye Bye” choreography, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, My Little Pony, and Judy Blume callouts, among others.

Directed by Shawn Levy, Deadpool & Wolverine takes place six years after the events of 2018’s Deadpool 2. In the new film, Reynolds’ character, Wade Wilson, has left his superhero days behind and now works as a used car salesman. However, his mundane life is interrupted when agents from the Time Variant Authority arrive to recruit him for a mission across the Marvel multiverse, leading to a partnership with a parallel-dimension Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman.
