Getting Ready For The Action-Packed Weekend
For parts of the USA still in winter’s nasty grasp, the Masters Tournament is like a soft breeze and gentle sunshine. So welcome to Augusta National, and the 83rd Masters Tournament.
The tournament began on Thursday, so we are looking at three more days of the world’s top golfers seeking to secure the coveted green jacket emblematic of a championship.
You’ll be jumping around on your various devices to watch as much of the action as the tournament honchos allow, so here’s how it works:
Friday: The Masters streams live on CBSSports.com from 9:15 a.m. ET to 7:30 p.m. ESPN picks up coverage from 3-7 p.m.
Saturday: CBSSports.com gets to work at 11 a.m. and hangs in until the conclusion of play. CBS joins the party from 3-7 p.m.
Sunday: Live stream is again from 11 a.m. to conclusion. CBS carries the final round from 2-7 p.m.
There will be other reasons to plunk your heiner in the recliner and remain at peace with the universe.
The NBA playoffs begin on Saturday with four games and continue Sunday with four. Have yourself a hoop party! It won’t end until mid-June.
The NHL playoffs, which commenced earlier in the week, could be a fun watch on Friday night. The Columbus Blue Jackets rebounded from a 3-0 deficit after one period to win 4-3 Wednesday night on the road against the Tampa Bay Lightning to grab a surprising 1-0 lead in this best-of-seven series. The Lightning are hosting again at 7 p.m. on CNBC. The Lightning won the President’s Cup as the NHL’s top regular-season team, but that’s generally been more of a postseason curse than a benefit.
Your Sunday night baseball offering is the New York Mets, with Jacob deGrom expected to be on the mound, taking on the Atlanta Braves. ESPN’s got this at 7:05 p.m.
Watch with wide-eyed wonder.
