A Sports Filled Weekend Ahead
Raise your hand if you were expecting a Game 7 in the NBA Finals.
You. In the back. Put that hand down. You were not expecting a seventh game. Stop that nonsense now.
But there will be a Game 7 after the Cleveland Cavaliers bolted to an early lead at home on Thursday night and tripped the Golden State Warriors 115-101. Down 3-1 in games at one point, the Cavaliers now have a chance to win the NBA Finals on Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET. ABC televises, and we recommend that you watch. The stakes are high – LeBron James gets a third NBA title in his sixth straight Finals appearance or the Warriors win back-to-back crowns.

Sadly, the rest of the weekend is less antic. Even so, wipe down the screen on that 60-inch monster in the den, plunk your heiner in the recliner, and enjoy a visual fest. …
Fox Sports 1 picks up the U.S. Open golf championship where it left off amid three interruptions for storms. The coverage starts at 11 a.m. on Friday. Only nine players completed the opening round on Thursday and 78 hadn’t even teed off when horn blew for the third time amid thunder and rain. Andrew Landry, a household name in his own household, led at the time. Good luck, pal.
With weather expected to be favorable, we can also recommend watching the third round on Saturday and final round on Sunday from Oakmont Country Club. The Open is on Fox at 11 a.m. both days.

Because we generally like boxing, we’ll take a blind stab at Saturday night’s bout between Andrzej Fonfara vs. Joe Smith Jr. on NBC at 8 p.m. First question: Who are they? Second question: What weight class? This and other mysteries will unfold before your eyes.
Do you like college baseball? Can you believe the College World Series is still going on long after the final exam has been cheated on? Check out Miami and Arizona at 8 p.m. on Saturday on ESPN 2.
If you’re silly enough to skip the NBA’s seventh game on Sunday night, you can enjoy the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs baseball game at 8 p.m. on ESPN. The Pirates are struggling, hovering around .500, while the Cubs have the best record in baseball.

There’s your Weekend TV Six-Pack (though if count all the golf it’s more like a seven-pack. We’re happy to buy a round).
Basketball, golf and baseball. Some boxing (possibly). NASCAR’s Sprint Cup series takes Sunday off for Father’s Day (just when fathers can legitimately ask to be left alone to watch TV) so forget about an endless series of left turns. Hey, we work with what we’ve got.
Watch responsibly. Take periodic breaks. Use eyedrops. And have a happy Father’s Day.
