A Sports Filled Weekend Ahead
It would be nice if we could apply a 24-hour clock to the sport with the 24-second clock, but we cannot. We have no power or influence. Therefore, after the Golden State Warriors flattened the Cleveland Cavaliers 113-91 in Game of the NBA Finals on Thursday night, we must wait for Game 2. And wait we will…
Game 2 will be Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. The players aren’t resting during this series, they’re vacationing. If this thing should go to a seventh game, it will be on June 18. This is not basketball, it’s time-lapse photography.
What else have we for you in the Weekend TV Six-Pack? The NHL’s Stanley Cup finals, scheduled at a more decent pace, move to Game 3 on Saturday night at 8 p.m. on NBC Sports. The Pittsburgh Penguins swept the first two games at home from the Nashville Predators, but now we’re in Music City.
Jason Dufner and David Lingmerth shared the first-round lead at The Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio, and the second round is on the Golf Channel on Friday at 2:30 p.m. The telecast moves to CBS on Saturday at 3 p.m. and the final round on Sunday is also CBS’, at 2:30 p.m.
The guys that go round and round roll into NASCAR’s Monster Energy AAA 400 Drive for Autism in Dover, Delaware. Fox Sports 1 shows this on Sunday at 1 p.m. For IndyCar fans, the Chevrolet Dual is in Detroit on Saturday and Sunday, 3:30 p.m. on both days on ABC.
The TV landscape is also laden with NCAA tournament baseball and softball, the Shoprite LPGA Classic and French Open tennis, not to mention soccer (which we just mentioned). Isn’t it nice to have choices?
Take that heiner, stick it in the recliner and you will discover that nothing could be finer.
