A Sports Filled Weekend
Basketball rules the airwaves this weekend, so get ready for some outstanding displays of hoop skills, with the NBA All-Star game on Sunday night serving as the crowning event.
The NBA’s jam-packed weekend in Toronto will provide a number of great viewing opportunities. We’ve chosen more than a few as part of the six-pack …
Let’s start with what the NBA calls All-Star Saturday Night. Beginning at 8 p.m. ET you can watch the Skills Challenge, the 3-point shooting contest and the Slam Dunk competition. These are all crowd pleasers and virtual highlight reels of athleticism.
On Sunday night, at 8:30 p.m., is the All-Star game itself. This too is usually a fabulous display of offensive skills and moves. This will be the last time around for the retiring Kobe Bryant, who has given so much to the game in his lengthy career with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Need to fill out your viewing schedule? There’s some pretty fair college basketball matchups as well.
On Saturday, we get No. 6 Kansas vs. No. 3 Oklahoma. And there’s also No. 24 Texas at No. 14 Iowa State. Texas came within a late 3-pointer of upsetting Oklahoma and the Longhorns, under first-year coach Shaka Smart, are building something special.
So there’s your programming picks, long on the hoops. We’re rapidly approaching the Daytona 500 and the start of the NASCAR season and baseball is also just around the corner. Keep fresh batteries in the remote and your heiner in the recliner.
