Get ready for the weekend with a game review
Those with a taste for up-tempo pacing and the Air Raid offense get their weekend off to a great start on Friday, when No. 20 Washington State (2-0) visits Houston (1-1).
WSU coach Mike Leach and Houston’s Dana Holgorsen know each other and that style of offense well, so this should be a fun matchup. It also lets East Coast fans get a look at WSU. Game time on ESPN is 9:15 p.m. ET.
Enjoy rivalries? No. 19 Iowa (2-0) visits Iowa State (1-0), the latter coming off an early bye week. FS1 shows this on Saturday at 4 p.m. And No. 9 Florida (2-0) pays a call on SEC rival Kentucky (2-0) at 7 p.m., with ESPN showing it.
Like that other kind of football? Futbol? Here’s a good way to warm up the recliner with your heiner – No. 6 Virginia (3-0-0) plays No. 2 Duke (4-0-0) on Friday night at 6 p.m. ESPNU does the honors. Order a pizza and put your feet up. It’s good practice for the days ahead.
In the NFL, savor a matchup of NFC Central Division foes when the Minnesota Vikings (1-0) play the Green Bay Packers (1-0). Fox has this one on Sunday at 1 p.m. That should set you up nicely for the NFC Championship rematch between the New Orleans Saints (1-0) and Los Angeles Rams (1-0), this time on the West Coast. Saints fans will never forget the egregious non-call of pass interference (and a personal foul) that cost the team a shot at the Super Bowl. 4:25 p.m., Fox. As always check your local listings.
NASCAR’s playoffs begin Sunday in Las Vegas with the South Point 400. NBCSN shows the race at 7 p.m. Your points leader is Kyle Busch, who won four races in 26 starts and finished in the top 10 21 times, most of any of the 16 contenders for the Monster Energy Cup Series championship.
Enjoy every moment.
