A Sports Filled Weekend
The NHL playoffs saw their first overtime game on Sunday night. The New York Islanders won at home, 4-3 over the Florida Panthers, to take a 2-1 lead in their best-of-seven series. Thomas Hickey scored at 12:31 of OT for the Isles.
In another playoff oddity, the Detroit Red Wings shut out the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-0 on Sunday. Goalie Petr Mrazek made his first appearance in the series and stopped 16 shots; it was his third career playoff shutout, and all have come against the Lightning. The Lightning lead this series 2-1.
