It’s evident that ancient cultures from all over the world have used honey in daily life, such as the Egyptians. Pots of honey were found in the Pyramids, and after a few thousand years, you could still eat it.
Honey is antioxidant rich, which is great for your overall health. Antioxidants are good for your heart and eyes and prevent many serious health issues.
Healthline.com explains studies that link honey to lowering cholesterol and triglycerides. It can also be used externally as a wound treatment.
Doctors in London and Public Health England are promoting honey for its antibacterial properties. It’s been long understood that overprescribing antibiotics is not good for people everywhere. It’s making people antibiotic resistant.
Because some patients are aware of that push, they can push back hard to get a prescription from their doctor in an attempt to get better. Public Health England’s mission is to “protect and improve the nation’s health and well-being, and to reduce health inequalities.”
One of the means to achieve that goal is to encourage patients to utilize natural over the counter remedies.
