Free Beer For Aliens That Escape Area 51
A Facebook event encouraging people to “Storm Area 51,” the secretive U.S. military base in Nevada that has long been rumored to study extraterrestrial life, has caused a social media frenzy. Now it has the attention of the Budweiser company, which is offering free beer to aliens who make it out of Area 51 unharmed.
Last week, when the event first gained traction, Bud Light tweeted, “We’d like to be the first brand to formally announce that we will not be sponsoring the Area 51 raid.” But the company reversed course a few days ago and even shared a label for its special-edition Area 51 beer.
At the top of the can is an image of an alien with the message, “Greetings Earthlings. This is the famous Area 51. We know of no space beer by any other life form which is brewed and aged to be more refreshing. Our cryogenic aging produces a light-bodied space lager with a fresh taste, a crisp, clean finish, and a smooth drinkability. Take us to your leader…for drinks.”
However, the U.S. military is not as amused by plans to storm Area 51. The military issued a warning discouraging people from participating in any attempt to “storm” the military base and warned that it would respond with force if necessary.
