“Birdman,” “Budapest Hotel” Lead Oscar Nominations
It’s the most wonderful time of the year – and no I don’t mean Christmas – the Academy Award nominations have been announced! What a year in film! Am I right? From groundbreaking dramas like ‘Boyhood’ and ‘Birdman’ to intriguing real life portrayals like ‘The Imitation Game’ and ‘The Theory of Everything’.
The Academy has chosen the best of the best and announced their nominations early this morning. Who will go home with that coveted statue and title of Academy Award winner? We’ll find out come February 22 when comedian Neil Patrick Harris hosts the ceremony, but one thing is for sure – it is a very tight race this year.
There are so many deserving nominees such as Julianne Moore, Reese Witherspoon, Eddie Redmayne, and Michael Keaton. But as always, along with the nominees there are a few snubs that didn’t quite make the cut.
Jennifer Aniston was projected to be nominated for Best Actress but sadly was not, and ‘The Lego Movie’ shockingly did not make the cut for Best Animated Feature. What do you say? Are you happy with the nominations this year? Or do you think the Academy got a few categories wrong?
