Top Patriots Player Retires
After 9 seasons in the NFL and three Super Bowl titles with the Patriots, Rob Gronkowski hanging up his helmet for retirement. Gronkowski will be turning 30 in May and is deciding to get out of the game early.
Gronkowski’s field time was limited in recent seasons because he’s experienced back, knee, arm, and ankle injuries. He posted this announcement on Instagram: “It all started at 20 years old on stage at the NFL draft when my dream came true, and now here I am about to turn 30 in a few months with a decision I feel is the biggest of my life so far. I will be retiring from the game of football today. I am so grateful for the opportunity that Mr. Kraft and Coach Belichick gave to me when drafting my silliness in 2010.”
He reflects how grateful he is for all his year on and off the field playing for the Patriots, including all the people he met and the amazing experiences. Gronkowski thanked everyone in the Patriots organization and learned great values to live by.
Then he thanks Pat fans, “Thank you to all of Pats Nation around the world for the incredible support since I have been a part of this first-class organization. Thank you for everyone accepting who I am and the dedication I have put into my work to be the best player I could be.”
Gronkowski is a five-time Pro Bowl and four-time First Team All-Pro selection; scored 79 touchdowns in 115 games from 2010 to 2018; caught 521 passes for 7,861 yards; added 81 catches for 1,163 yards and 12 touchdowns in 16 postseason contests. These are just a few things that makes Gronkowski considered as one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history.
