Nelson Mandela, the Nobel Peace Prize winner and former South African President, has sadly passed away.
The prominent political leader is famous for many good works, including his fight to end the highly racist policy of apartheid in South Africa.
95 year old Mandela had been experiencing a rapid decline in health ever since being hospitalized back on June 8th of 2013. Reports claim that a recurring lung infection could have played a major role in his death.
The life and actions of Mr. Mandela have not only impacted humanity but have made an impact in Hollywood as well. Actors like Morgan Freeman, Danny Glover and Sidney Poitier have all experienced great critical acclaim for portraying the herotic works of Mandela on screen.
The beloved South African leader’s life will be mourned and his legacy remembered not only in South Africa but around the globe. He is a man that will truly never be forgotten. RIP
