King James
One would expect LeBron James to have a happy Cinco de Mayo. On Wednesday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers celebrated their own holiday – Sink-o de basketball.
They absolutely obliterated the Atlanta Hawks 123-98 (and it wasn’t really that close), setting an NBA record along the way with 25 3-pointers. They made seven in the first quarter and 18 in the first half, which ended with them ahead 74-38. Ten players made at least one 3-point shot.

James had three of them and 27 points before he and the other starters sat out the fourth quarter. The Cavs lead the series 2-0 and James, earlier in the day, had already turned a bit of his mind to what might be up ahead – a meeting with his former team, the Miami Heat.
James won two titles in four years with the Heat and then returned to Cleveland. Now he’s eager to see his old buds, especially Dwyane Wade, and beat them in the Eastern Conference finals.

“It’d be great to play against those guys in the postseason. Throughout my whole career, I’ve always wanted to go against Wade in a playoff series,” James told Cleveland.com. “We’ve always talked about it even before we became teammates in ’10. It’s not been heavy on my mind but it’s crossed my mind throughout my whole career.”
If the Cavs keep playing as they did on Wednesday night, they’ll be advancing after two more games. The Hawks had no answers for them and why should they? They’ve lost 10 in a row to the Cavaliers in the playoffs. Their next chance is Friday night, in Atlanta. Good luck with that.
