‘Modern Family’ Films Episode on Mobile Devices

‘Modern Family’ is breaking new ground and making television history by filming an entire episode on just smart phones and tablets. Yes, you read that right – the crew is ditching their fancy TV cameras and filming only with the use FaceTime, Skype, etc. What a world we live in now!

The creator of the show said he got this idea from personal experience when communicating with his own family through these devices and thought it would be cool to use that technology on the show. Television shows have used things like FaceTime in episodes before, but never for a full episode without the use of any professional camera.

This had to take major creative planning and by the sound of it, Modern Family pulled off this very impressive task successfully.
