Brooks said Trump asked him to “rescind the 2020 election.”
Earlier this week, former United States President Donald Trump announced he was rescinding his endorsement of Alabama Republican Representative Mo Brooks for the GOP Senate Primary in May. The primary reason for this is that Brooks recently suggested that it was time for Republicans to move on from the 2020 election and focus on the future, while Trump still steadfastly insists the election was somehow “stolen” from him.

In response to Trump’s actions, Brooks has divulged details on their last interactions with one another following the 2020 election, which ended in favor of current President Joe Biden.
“President Trump asked me to rescind the 2020 elections, immediately remove Joe Biden from the White House, immediately put President Trump back in the White House, and hold a new special election for the presidency,” Brooks told NBC News.
“As a lawyer, I’ve repeatedly advised President Trump that January 6 was the final election contest verdict and neither the US Constitution nor the US Code permit what President Trump asks. Period,” Brooks said.

“I’ve told President Trump the truth knowing full well that it might cause President Trump to rescind his endorsement,” he continued. “But I took a sworn oath to defend and protect the US Constitution. I honor my oath. That is the way I am. I break my sworn oath for no man.”
Neither Trump nor any of his spokespeople have responded to Brooks’ comments at time of writing.
