The Expense of Sexual Assault
If you do the crime, you pay the time…or the $500 million settlement. Yesterday a settlement was reached between Larry Nassar’s 332 victims and Michigan State University. Looks like MSU will have to cough up a staggering half-a-billion dollars. $425 million will be paid to victims who have already come forward and the remaining $75 million will be placed into a trust for any victims who come forward in the future. In the meantime, Larry Nassar will be spending anywhere from 40 to 125 years in prison.
