Meghan Markle announces the first job since leaving royal family

American actress turned UK royal, Meghan Markle, announced her first job since stepping down from her royal title as the Duchess of Sussex. Markle announced she will be working on the next Disney+ project, narrating for the original movie “Elephant.”

“Elephant” follows a family of the giant majestic animals’ journey across the Kalahari Desert in Africa and will be available on the Disney+ streaming service starting April 3. The film will be released only two days after Markle officially steps back as a working royal.

Reports indicate Markle signed the deal to narrate the movie back in January to participate in the project in exchange for a donation to the Elephants Without Borders charity. Disney+ is focusing on animal documentaries, including “Dolphins” featuring actress Natalie Portman as the narrator.

At the London red carpet premiere of “The Lion King,” Meghan and Harry said that they’re open to doing voiceover work. “The Simpsons” claimed they’ve approached Meghan and Harry for voiceover work to be featured on the animated series.

Markle married into the UK royal family to her husband, Prince Harry, but the couple has recently stepped down from their royal titles as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex since March 9. The official date the couple will break off their ties to their royal titles on March 31.

The couple stepped down from their senior titles under the Royal Family and wanted to earn their own income, choosing to have careers instead of titles. Harry and Meghan will spend their last days as senior royals helping to set up for a not-for-profit global organization based in North America with no details revealed yet.
