Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’s Mama June opened up about how she was able to lose a total of 115 pounds, the season finale of the TLC reality TV show her whole family stars in and her wedding in an interview over KTLA.

Extreme Weight Loss

June Shannon revealed that when she was at her heaviest, that is before she starred in her reality TV show, she weighed over 400 pounds. However, her current weight is now down to 285 pounds and she went from dress size 26 to 18 – all that within the two years she was recording the show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

The catch to her weight loss, however, was she did not undergo any diet methods or take diet pills to lose that too much weight! Mama June attributed her slimmer self to the active life the show production caused her. She said her schedule kept her on the move – running and going to places, in her words – and she believes that hard work has finally paid off in the amazing weight loss result her body is getting.

The mother of four girls admitted she is happy with how things turned out – the weight loss and all – but she also added that with or without losing her extra pounds, she is content with who she is and if people do not like that then they have to deal with it.

”If they don’t like me, then they don’t look at me,” she quipped rather sassily.

Sugar Bear, her husband and Honey Boo Boo’s father who was also with her during the interview, was quick to add that June did look good slimmer and that there were no particular foods she ate to make her that way.

On Her Wedding

When asked about their wedding, Mama June confessed marriage is scary to her and that she’s afraid to commit. However, after talking with then partner, Sugar Bear, the couple decided to “take the plunge” and get on with it.

She laughingly said she didn’t know if the event that took place that day was a marriage ceremony or commitment ceremony but to her it did not matter. She is happy that she and Sugar Bear got on with it alongside the support of the show’s fans.

Here Comes Another Reality Show

Mama June and the whole Thompson family came into the limelight courtesy of another TLC reality series Toddlers and Tiaras. The first season of HCHBB aired on August 8 and revolved around the whole family and the life they are living in their rural hometown, McIntyre, Georgia.

When asked about how the reality show has changed her family, Mama June answered point-blank “very little changes”. She clarified that her family still goes through life the same way they did before they came to star in their own show – her husband still works in a normal job and the kids still go to school as they always do.

By “little changes” she meant the occasional bodyguards that are posted every now and then in their home and of course, since they’re paid for the show, she had set up trust funds for each of her daughters – something that is out of bounds in a rural community like McIntyre, Ga.
