Kevin Hart speaks out on recovering

Actor and comedian Kevin Hart broke his silence for the first time this week after his devastating car crash in Calabasas, California on September 1. Hart and the driver both sustained serious injuries in the crash, which required hospitalization and intense physical therapy.

“My world forever changed…Basically, what you realize is that you’re not in control. No matter how much you think you’re in control, you’re not in control. At the end of the day, it can all be over, man,” Hart said in an Instagram post.

Police say Hart’s driver, Jared Black, was responsible for the crash. Black was driving recklessly when the car careened off the road and into a ravine. However, neither man was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

In the post, Hart shared graphic footage of the crash, as well as videos of himself doing physical therapy to recover from his injuries.

Hart said he sees the accident as a sign to “slow down” and focus on family, especially his three children.

“I swear, life is funny. Because some of the craziest things that happen to you end up being the things that you needed most,” Hart wrote. “And in this case, I honestly feel like God basically told me to sit down.”
