Changes to the long-standing baseball stadium to protect attendees
Boston Red Sox fans will be welcomed back to Fenway Park with a newly renovated stadium that will help keep all participants safe starting opening day. The Fenway Park stadium will feature more safety measures and protocols along with new renovations.
It’s time to return to the ballpark in person, albeit in smaller numbers, and Red Sox Nation can breathe a socially distant sigh of relief. https://t.co/twQqBhpt1f

Since February 1, New Englanders have received vaccine shots under the grandstand of Fenway Park with all participants getting a free “I got vaccinated at Fenway Park” souvenir button. Fenway Park’s efforts in combatting COVID-19 are recognized on social media with participants posting pictures after receiving the vaccine in front of the legendary baseball stadium.
The scheduled season-opening game will allow 12 percent capacity (approximately 4,500 people) and fans are required to fill out a health questionnaire on the MLB ballpark app instead of temperature screening every attendee. The questionnaire includes general questions about the health and possible symptoms of attendees.
Attendees will enter Fenway Park through “neighborhood zones” near their seats.
Seating will be in socially distant pods of two or four seats.

Fenway Park has also designated new “neighborhood zone” entrances near seating consisting of socially distant pods of two or four seats. Concession stands now feature plexiglass guards and hand sanitizer stations that will also be featured throughout the park.
Fan interactions with players will be limited with MLB safety protocols stating there will be no balls flipped into the stands and no autographs signed. Fenway Park removed the green-tented auxiliary dugouts that housed players in lower box seats last year and players will no longer be housed in luxury suites. Another change to Fenway Park is the right field concourse that was sectioned off to allow for a strength and conditioning area including a batting cage.
