Happy Cinco De Mayo

It’s Cinco de Mayo and for many Americans that means enjoying some incredible Mexican food and probably a few tasty margaritas. However, Cinco de Mayo, meaning the 5th of May, is probably one of the most misunderstood holidays.

The day is known as Mexico’s Independence Day, but believe it or not that day actually isn’t until September. So the celebration in May is for the Mexican army and their unlikely victory over the French in the Battle of Puebla.

Today, the holiday is very popular, but more so in America than in Mexico. In America it represents pride, culture, and heritage and typically another great excuse to gather with friends and family to celebrate and eat great food!…enjoy!
