The Life Of Britney Spears
After Lifetime announced a movie based on the life of Britney Spears, the “Make Me” singer is distancing herself from the project, as her rep tells ET Canada the movie does not have her blessing. Lifetime is known for its movies portraying the lives of the famous. Other celebrities, such as Whitney Huston and Elizabeth Taylor have been featured in Lifetime bio-pics.
Typically, the stars don’t want to have anything to do with the movie, and the “Princess of Pop” is no exception. Her rep announced that she will not be contributing to the movie in any way. The timing of the Lifetime movie is impeccable, as Britney has a lot going on- she is releasing her new album, Glory, she is performing at the VMAs, and taking part in Apple Music Fest in London in September. It seems that everyone wants a piece of Britney!
She will be played by Australian actress Natasha Bassett. The 2 hour movie will show her rise to fame from her humble beginnings in Louisiana, as well as all of the ups and downs in her life, including her relationships and her highly publicized breakdown. It will show her relationship with Justin Timberlake and marriage to Kevin Federline. The producers are currently casting for the role of Justin Timberlake. The movie, simply titled, ‘Britney’ will begin filming in Vancouver in September and will be released in 2017.
