Beyonce thrilled fans at “The Lion King” premiere in Los Angeles by donning a long, jewel-studded black and silver Alexander McQueen gown. Beyonce is the voice of the lioness Nala in the live action version of “The Lion King,” a remake of Disney’s 1996 animated film.

Beyonce attended the premiere with her daughter, Blue Ivy, who wore a matching black-and-white outfit. Beyonce’s husband, Jay-Z, and their two-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir, did not attend the premiere.

Other stars who voice characters in the film, including Seth Rogan and Donald Glover, attended the screening of the film, which debuts in theaters on July 18th. But nobody stole the show quite like Beyonce. Michelle Williams, who sang with Beyonce in the girl group Destiny’s Child, called Beyonce an inspiration and speculated that Beyonce was thrilled to star in a movie she loved as a child.

“I think she’s just excited to be in [The Lion King], probably as she was when she first saw the movie,” Williams said. “And to have a full-circle moment to be in something that you just salivated over when you were younger is just awesome. And because of her two little girls, what she’s passing on for her family, I think, is really awesome.”
