Rejoice for the royal baby has been born and it is a boy. This is an age where the royalty of England is non-critical and when there is no desperate need for a male heir to be born. Of course no one is worrying about that as Duchess Catharine and Prince William have brought the newest addition to the royal family, George, into this world.
Good Health for All
The health of young George is good and both parents are absolutely overjoyed to bring him into this world. While it is not pivotal for England or any other nation to have an English royal lineage any longer, there are still cheers and congratulations from around the world for the family. Everyone is happy for the royal family and wishes well upon Prince George. The new parents stayed with their child in the hospital overnight before releasing any public details about the child.
The Internet
There has been a mixed review online about the birth of young George. Many social activists feel that the naming and gendering of the child was premature and that Catharine and William should have waited until the child was old enough to decide for itself. Other detractors feel that the fanfare is unwarranted and that the spectacle of this entire ordeal is uncalled for. Unfortunately newborns really are not capable of naming or gendering themselves so for now that has fallen onto the parents and natural biology.
Interesting Little Tidbits
The English royal family actually has some influence to this day in countries outside of England. For example, the birth of Prince George is a future head of state to Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and a few other countries in the Commonwealth. This position does not actually convey any official powers but it is a tradition steeped in a great deal of culture and history. Many do not wish to abandon such cultural roots and so George is a welcome addition to the royal line with much hope that he will handle the position well and set a shining example to the people.
Babies Are Good for Sales!
The birth of Prince George signifies an opportunity to make more than a few sales for retailers. Baby toys and other memorabilia carrying the name or likeness of George are expected to shoot through the roof for the next few years, lending themselves to millions in sales. Many parents are also naming their newborns after the prince and so the paraphernalia works for their children as well. Of course with so much excitement surrounding the royal birth there has been something of a media frenzy. The royal family will be absolutely swamped with paparazzi and reporters for months to come thanks to the popularity of the topic. Expect to know every little detail about Prince George, from his colds to his first steps. But none of that is important because a child has been born into a loving family and that is more than enough reason to be overjoyed. Welcome into the world Prince George.
