Another Failed Attempt by Trump?
President Donald Trump sent out a fundraising email in early September 2025 that has people talking, and not in a good way. The email, sent by his political action committee, Never Surrender, Inc., had the subject line “I Want to Try and Get to Heaven.” It asked supporters for $15 donations, saying his political work and survival of a 2024 assassination attempt were signs God saved him to “Make America Great Again.” The email called it a “24-HOUR TRUMP FUNDRAISING BLITZ” and used religious words to make his fight sound like a holy mission.
But the email didn’t sit well with many people online. They called it desperate, fake, and even offensive. Critics pointed out that Trump, a billionaire, asking for small donations while talking about getting to heaven felt wrong. The email came at a time when Trump was already facing heat for other controversies, like legal battles and questionable business deals. People on social media, especially on X, ripped into the email, sharing screenshots and mocking its tone.
Here’s what the email said, in part:
“Last year, I came millimeters from death when that bullet pierced through my skin. My triumphant return to the White House was never supposed to happen! But I believe that God saved me for one reason: TO MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! … SO NOW, I have no other choice but to answer the Call to Duty, but I can’t do it alone.”
The backlash was quick. Many called it a cheap trick to use religion for money. Others said it was hypocritical, pointing to Trump’s past scandals. The email spread fast online, with news outlets like Atlanta Black Star calling it “cringe” and “pathetic.” Even some of Trump’s supporters seemed confused by the odd wording.
This isn’t the first time Trump’s fundraising emails have caused a stir. His team has a history of sending dramatic messages to get donations, but this one stood out for mixing faith with a cash grab. It’s left people divided: some see it as a bold move to rally his base, while others think it’s a new low.

The email has added fuel to the fire for Trump’s critics, who see it as proof of him using any tactic to get money. Whether it helps his campaign or hurts it more, it’s clear this “heaven” plea won’t be forgotten soon.
