The Chant
Every single athlete competing in the Olympics has a special story to tell. They all have had to overcome unique challenges both physically and emotionally, but some stories simply defy the odds.
Meet 19-year-old Margret Rumat Rumat Hassan, a 400-meter runner from South Sudan. Margret grew up like every other kid in South Sudan with a dream that one day she will grow up to become someone so great and inspiring that she will then leave behind a legacy. With little resources around to help achieve these dreams, it makes their journey a little more difficult.

However, Margaret is defying odds as she is officially on her way to compete at this year’s Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, which is impressive for ANY athlete who is so young, let alone because she is from such a place. Believe it or not she also is the first athlete to even represent her country in the Olympic games since the countries independence from Sudan in 2011. With such a fascinating story and legacy that she carries with her, Samsung thought she would be the perfect person to represent their new campaign!
Watch as Margaret’s story is told from when she was a little girl with just a thought of a dream that one day she would be a world class athlete to the day she prepares for her Olympic appearance by putting in her wireless headphone and getting herself pumped up for the competition. You will see exclusive shots of her country rallying behind her and chanting her name in city streets from when she is a young prodigy to the day she competes….get ready to get inspired with this heart-pounding chant!
