Here’s What Researchers Think
According to a new research study at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, leaky guts could be a cause of marital distress. The scientist in this study had some couples argue over things such as money or infidelity, and they immediately took a blood sample afterward. The couples that had the worst fights had higher levels of a marker for a leaky gut. The lead author on this study says that the everyday hostility between some married couples might be “causing changes in the gut that lead to inflammation and, potentially, illness.”
Several ways to keep your gut healthier and stronger include improving your diet. Eating lean proteins, healthy fats, and whole grains, according to the scientists of the study, will improve your overall health and offset a leaky gut. Also, of course, lessen the fights between you and your spouse. No argument is worth the decline in health of you or your spouse.
