Honoring 40 Years of Comedic Gold
It was a beautiful night for comedy! The massive television phenomenon ‘Saturday Night Live’ celebrated 40 years last night and practically everyone who is anyone showed up to join the party.
From old cast members like Chevy Chase, Eddie Murphy, and Bill Murray to past hosts like Bradley Cooper, Melissa McCarthy and Betty White – this show had something for everyone.
More importantly, it honored a legacy that has shaped so much of our culture in the past 40 years. ‘SNL’ has provided us with joy and wonderful moments over the years and has showcased some of the best comedic talent anyone has ever seen.
Staying on air for 40 years is a huge accomplishment for one, but staying relevant in pop culture with no signs of slowing down anytime soon is an even bigger one.
The 3 and a half special honored classic moments from past seasons with montages full of nostalgia, and provided us with new moments like another version of everyone’s favorite Celebrity Jeopardy – with Will Ferrell as Alex Trebek of course.
One thing is more certain, ‘SNL’ can still make us laugh. Here’s to the next 40 years!
Here is SNL 40’s Celebrity Jeopardy. Check out more on SNL’s YouTube page or NBC.com for other sketches from the celebration! You don’t want to miss Maya Rudolph as Beyonce or another episode of The Californians (spoiler alert: Betty White and Bradley Cooper totally made out!)
