May Mobility Launches Fully Driverless Ride-Hail Service in Peachtree Corners

May Mobility is taking autonomous transportation to the next level with its first fully driverless commercial ride-hail service in Peachtree Corners, Georgia. The company’s latest milestone showcases the future of shared, safe, and efficient mobility.

A Unique Approach to Autonomous Rides

Unlike traditional robotaxi services focused on solo trips, May Mobility is pioneering a “gentle on-ramp” strategy. By emphasizing on-demand shuttles and pooled rides along well-mapped routes, the company makes autonomous transportation more accessible to the public.
Since September 2024, May Mobility has been operating free, on-demand autonomous shuttle services along a designated 3-mile AV test track on Technology Parkway. Until now, human safety operators were present in each vehicle. Now, with the safety driver removed, the company is entering a new phase—charging for fully driverless rides.

Expanding the Reach of Autonomy

Peachtree Corners marks May Mobility’s third driverless deployment in the U.S., following successful rollouts in Sun City, Arizona, and Ann Arbor, Michigan. The ride-hail service will connect passengers to eight key locations, including hotels, retail centers, office spaces, and city hall.
Technology Parkway provides an ideal testing ground for AV technology, featuring 5G-enabled infrastructure and cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) technology. This enhances vehicle connectivity, ensuring low-latency, high-bandwidth communication for remote assistance.

Seamless and Sustainable Public Transportation

May Mobility’s driverless shuttle service operates Monday through Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Passengers can book rides through the May Mobility app, powered by Via’s transit technology. Each Toyota Sienna Autono-MaaS vehicle can accommodate up to five passengers, providing an eco-friendly and efficient mobility solution.
The company is also planning to expand toward Peachtree Corners’ town center, strengthening its driverless transit network. Later this year, May Mobility aims to integrate its autonomous fleet into the Lyft app, bringing its ride-hail service to an even wider audience.

Driving the Future of Urban Mobility

May Mobility’s launch in Peachtree Corners is more than just a technological breakthrough—it’s a glimpse into the future of city transportation. By embracing shared, electric, and driverless mobility, the company is leading the shift toward smarter, safer, and more sustainable urban environments. As autonomous technology continues to evolve, May Mobility remains at the forefront, shaping the way communities experience transportation.
