Don’t Break Down, Break Things
Feel on the verge of an emotional breakdown? This place can help you from breaking down by breaking stuff instead.
The Wrecking Club in New York offers a safe space to smash and break things, while providing proper safety equipment as well. The Club started with a pop-up event that proved to be a smashing idea and the official Wrecking Club was born.
The founder of The Wrecking Club, Tom Daly, says that many who come in are initially hesitant but walk out demolition experts. They offer package with a variety of items to break including, technology, dishware, instruments, and furniture.
The items that are smashed are donated by owners trying to get rid of their old junk, with most items that cannot work anymore. There is another option for people to bring their own stuff to smash, with approval needed by The Wrecking Club.
The packages offer certain time sessions that include certain items to smash items, with some packages providing the items. If there additional items that you want to smash, you can add it to your tab and pay at the end of your session.
There is also a membership option for people who want to come back for more. The memberships come at different levels offering discounts for future in-store add-ons and appointment fees, with included items to smash with every appointment made.
The club provides safety equipment for the true feel of a wrecking crew with hard hats and safety goggles, while encouraging wearing of close-toed shoes and long pants. There is also a provided music selection to inspire the wrecking experience.
