Joe And Sophie Skip Billboard Music Awards After Party To Get Married

The quickie Vegas wedding is the stuff of legends–and Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner decided to make it a reality by eloping in a Vegas chapel after the Billboard Music Awards last night. The wedding took place just hours after the Jonas brothers performed together onstage for the first time since announcing their reunion tour a few months ago.

The surprise wedding appeared on social media thanks to international DJ Diplo. On Diplo’s Instagram, he posted a clip of Turner in a white dress entering a Vegas chapel with Joe Jonas accompanied by his brothers dressed in suits.

ET confirmed the union was official, leaking a copy of the marriage license that Jonas and Turner applied for on the day of the wedding. Diplo continued to share moments from the impromptu wedding on his Instagram including Turner walking down the aisle.

The wedding guests included a majority of BBMA attendees including Khalid and Diplo. Country stars Dan + Shay played their hit song “Speechless” while Turner walked down the aisle with a white veil and a bouquet with blinking LED lights. The ceremony truly screamed Las Vegas, with an Elvis impersonator officiating the wedding.

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner got engaged about eighteen months before the surprise wedding, and many fans were eagerly waiting to hear about their nuptial plans. Let’s just hope this marriage lasts longer than most Vegas weddings.
