Where Hollywood And Consoles Collide

With recent releases such as Warcraft, Tomb Raider, Assassin’s Creed to theaters as well as Netflix produced shows like Castelvania on the rise in popularity, productions based on hit video games seem to be a new force dominating mainstream media. We already have confirmation on a Super Mario movie in the works, so let’s celebrate both gaming and Hollywood by showcasing five franchises we want to see converted into feature length films or binge-worthy shows.

God of War
While Netflix shut down rumors that a show based on Kratos’ adventures were in the works, the game director took to Twitter to show his immense interest, even potentially hinting that a collaboration could be in the future. With the success of 2018’s installment of the franchise, God of War deserves a graphic live-action recreation for all fans to enjoy.

Overwatch
Blizzard Entertainment has already proved they can create stunning cinematic trailers that immerse viewers in their deeply created worlds. Why not take these short films to the next level by creating a feature length, animated TV show akin to the graphic style of the game to delve deeper into the character’s backstories?

Kingdom Hearts
Come on, who wouldn’t want a Disney x Final Fantasy-esque crossover on the big screen. With the convoluted plot of the game, tying the main storyline together while showcasing our favorite Walt Disney worlds and wonders would make for a spectacle for all fans to enjoy.

Portal
A comedic, sitcom based story that features Glad0s, P-Body, Wheatley, Atlas, and all the shenanigans of Aperture Science Labs would be a hit for Netflix no doubt. The show could even throw in some serious undertones of how the corporation was destroyed, and no doubt there would be intense action scenes using the portal gun.

The Last Of Us
So this movie was already announced, but is now delayed/stalled with no word on when (or if) it will be finished. With such a strong story, heartfelt moments, and lovable characters, The Last of Us is the game we all NEED a movie to be made of.

We’d love to hear what franchises you want on the big screen!
