Details On Upcoming Season of American Horror Story
Last year American Horror Story took inspiration from their ‘cult’ following for a season theme surrounding cults during the time of the 2016 Presidential election. Ryan Murphy is doing his best to keep his cult following happy with the upcoming eighth season of AHS.
The theme will be a cross-over of the first season ‘Murder House’ with the ‘Coven’ from the third season. The creator of AHS, Ryan Murphy, tweeted “The Coven/Murder House AHS crossover season won’t be happening next year… because it’s happening THIS YEAR. AHS #8 WITCHES RULE THIS SEPTEMBER.”
This isn’t new to the fans of AHS because Murphy teased two years ago that one of the former season was going to have the crossover theme but was unsuccessful, until now. The confirmed cast will include principle characters featured in all previous seasons including Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters.
The new season will also bring back cast members that appeared in previous seasons, welcoming back Kathy Bates, Adina Porter, and Cheyenne Jackson. After their premiere in the season 7 of AHS ‘Cult’ Billy Eichner and Leslie Grossman will re-join the cast for the upcoming season.
Murphy is promising one of the biggest plot twists in AHS history with a high-concepts and is teasing that the fifth episode will be one of the biggest twists of the season to come. The new season will also take place in the time period of 2019, not to be confused with the premiere date.
The ‘Coven’ cast will also bring back popular members including Emma Roberts and Taissa Farmiga, returning to play their characters in ‘Coven’ with fans rejoicing the return of the popular characters.
The biggest question of the series is whether Jessica Lange will return to fill the role of the queen bee witch of the coven. Murphy has yet to confirm whether she will return since she has not been apart of the American Horror Story cast since the fourth season.
