The Miley and Liam saga continues

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth split this summer after ten years together–and Miley just dropped a breakup song, “Slide Away,” which appears to be aimed at Hemsworth.

“Once upon a time, it was paradise/Once upon a time, I was paralyzed/Think I’m gonna miss these harbor lights/But it’s time to let it go,” Miley sings on the track. “Once upon a time, it was made for us/Woke up one day, it had turned to dust/Baby, we were found, but now we’re lost/So it’s time to let it go.”

Sounds harsh. However, an anonymous source told People.com that Cyrus isn’t trying to hurt her ex-husband with the breakup ballad.

“Her song was her way of telling her story without having to say anything at all,” the source told People.com. “She isn’t trying to bash him, but she wants to be able to share what she’s been going through.”

Cyrus and Hemsworth had a long and rocky relationship, which included a long engagement and a short marriage that lasted only a year. But Miley seems to be moving on quickly: she took a post-breakup vacation with longtime friend Kaitlynn Carter, and it appears the two have become more than friends. The two were spotted engaging in excessive PDA during their trip to Italy this month.
