Your Weekend Round-Up
You can have the biathlon, snowboarding and the bobsled. Please. Take them. The Olympics still dominate NBC and a number of its platforms and there is simply too much going on at the Games to pick and choose and recommend. Olympics fatigue has set in.
So that is how your Weekend TV Six-Pack begins. This blog is putting you to work. You will be responsible for selecting and watching your own Olympic favorites. Feel empowered? Great.
Do we sound a bit cranky? Sorry. But you should hear NASCAR’s drivers bellyaching and it’s only the second race of the season. Bubba Wallace is mad at Denny Hamlin for some exchanges of paint during the Daytona 500. Everyone is mad at Hamlin for saying 70 percent of the drivers use Adderall, a banned substance. And so we can expect some furious driving on Sunday at Atlanta Motor Speedway in the QuikTrip 500. Fox shows this at 2 p.m. ET.
You may want to tune in to the second round of the Honda Classic on Friday to see if Tiger Woods makes the cut. He was tied for 21st after the first round. It’s on Golf Channel from 2-6 p.m. If Woods survives, catch Sunday’s final round from 3-6 p.m. on CBS.
For those wondering if the Golden State Warriors will pick up their game heading down the stretch, Saturday night’s meeting with the Oklahoma City Thunder might be an indicator. ABC has it at 8:30 p.m.
Down a level, in the colleges, the regular season will soon give way to conference tournaments. But there are some goodies left. Such as No. 8 Kansas at No. 6 Texas Tech on Saturday at 4:15 p.m., with ESPN doing the honors. At 8:30, try No. 12 Auburn at Florida on the SEC Network.
Put your heiner in the recliner. Consider it practice for the upcoming spate of college basketball tournaments and March Madness.
