This is what we like – meat and potatoes sports. Baseball and football.

The National League Championship Series will get your weekend off to a sitting start. Heiner and recliner time begins early. The Los Angeles Dodgers meet the Milwaukee Brewers in this best-of-seven for a berth in the World Series on Friday night at 8:09 p.m. ET on FS1. The Dodgers and Brewers go at it again on Saturday at 4:09 p.m. on Fox.

In the American League, the Houston Astros, the defending World Series champions, travel to Boston to play the Red Sox on Saturday night at 8:09 p.m. on TBS. They play Game 2 on Sunday at 7:09 p.m. on TBS.

In college football, LSU (5-1), which fell out of the Top Ten after losing to Florida, faces an even bigger task on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on CBS. The Tigers, now No. 13, welcome No. 2 Georgia (6-0) to Baton Rouge. No. 7 Washington (5-1) hits the road to play No. 17 Oregon. This one is also at 3:30 p.m., on ABC/ESPN2. And, in another matchup of ranked teams, No. 15 Wisconsin (4-1) visits No. 12 Michigan (5-1).

The NFL’s game of the week is clearly the 5-0 Kansas City Chiefs at the 3-2 New England Patriots. It’s the new favorite against the long-time favorite. On NBC at 8:20 p.m.

NASCAR’s playoffs go on (and on and on and on) at Talladega on Sunday with the 1000bulbs.com 500. NBC will show it at 2 p.m.
