Getting Ready For The Weekend Preview Of Sports
Take two televisions and put them side by side. That will prepare you for what lies ahead Saturday night.
You will want one eye on each. You will want to see these two college football games. And they are, of course, on at the same time. Grr.
The better of the two will be No. 15 TCU (2-0) against No. 4 Ohio State (2-0). The Buckeyes rank second in the nation in scoring and total offense and will be without suspended coach Urban Meyer for the final time. This one is on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.
With your other eyeball, watch No. 22 Southern Cal (1-1) at Texas (1-1). These two played an entertaining overtime game last year and the Trojans have a young quarterback, JT Daniels, who is worth a look.Fox, at 8 p.m.
Your heiner may still be in the recliner from an earlier marquee matchup of ranked teams. At 3:30 p.m. you can catch No. 12 LSU (2-0) at No. 7 Auburn (2-0).
Got two NFL games for you. As always, check local listings for the team in your area, but don’t miss the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-0) at the New England Patriots (1-0) on CBS at 4:25 p.m. on Sunday. We’re also going to recommend (against our better judgment) the New York Giants (0-1) at the Dallas Cowboys (0-1), only because neither can afford to be 0-2. NBC, 8:20 p.m.
NASCAR’s playoffs begin on Sunday at Las Vegas with the Southpoint 400. NBC Sports Network shows this at 3 p.m.
Sounds like a good time can be had by all without leaving the den. This is how successful weekends are built.
