Facebook Stalking…Literally
Many Internet users around the world are very cautious when putting in their personal information online and being manipulated into what they click on and view.
A U.K. regulator is responsible for enforcing the country’s Data Protection Act said it is looking into an experiment that many consider controversial on Facebook. Roughly 700,000 English-speaking users were manipulated into the content that they viewed.
The whole purpose was to see if emotions spread via the Internet but many did not find this test amusing. Some of the users were shown more positive posts in their news feed, while others were shown more negative posts.
The controversy is taking big leaps as more people are becoming annoyed due to this manipulation. What do you think? You could have been subject to this experiment and not even have noticed!
