The New Bachelorette

Love is always in the air on The Bachelor! Bachelor Nick Viall sat down to talk about the many women in his life on a Valentine’s Day episode of the Ellen Degeneres Show. It was announced on Monday evening that former contestant Rachel Lindsay would be the new Bachelorette. She’ll be the first black female to hold the title on the ABC competition series.

When asked whether she feels any added pressure about this fact, she said no. Rachel is an attorney from Dallas, TX, who is both beautiful and smart. In her interview of Nick, Degeneres admitted she was surprised after Rachel and Nick had hit it off early on, but praised Lindsay as the pick. The world watched as Rachel slowly worked her way into Nick’s heart, so everyone was surprised when she failed to receive a rose. Nick agreed with Ellen and admitted to having a great deal of chemistry with Lindsay. He was very excited for her and said he thought she would be an amazing Bachelorette, saying that she had the perfect combination of “beauty, grace and charisma”.

Viall has been on the Bachelor two times and has also been on the Bachelor in Paradise. Season 3 of the Bachelorette premieres on ABC on Monday, May 22. Rachel Lindsay’s role as the new Bachelorette was announced on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The 31-year-old told Jimmy how she is ready to find love, find a husband and start a family.
