Where Is Your Money Now?
As The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is starting up again, many are left wondering if the challenge actually made a difference. And well, we are happy to announce that it did and actually led to a major breakthrough.
What scientists found could slow down or even potentially stop the disease. The challenge raised $220 million for ALS research. The money let them pursue “high-risk, high-reward” experiments.
This helped to better understand the faulty protein that leads to ALS. So many have thought the Ice Bucket Challenge was dumb but the 15,000 Americans living with ALS think otherwise.
