More to be revealed in the upcoming documentary “Taylor Swift: Miss Americana”

Taylor Swift’s new documentary, Taylor Swift: Miss Americana premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on Thursday, January 24th. In the film, Swift, who just turned thirty, opens up about her battle with anorexia earlier in her career. She says paparazzi photos and cruel comments online led her to obsess about her weight.

“[I saw] a picture of me where I looked like my tummy was too big, or…someone said that I looked pregnant…and that’ll just trigger me to just starve a little bit, just stop eating,” Swift says. She said things got so bad she nearly fainted onstage during performances: “I thought that I was supposed to feel like I was going to pass out at the end of the show, or in the middle of it…Now, I realize, no, if you eat food, have energy, get stronger, you can do all these shows and not feel [enervated].”

The documentary reveals other struggles Swift is facing in her personal life, including her mother’s battle with cancer. Despite all that, Swift remains one of the top-paid and most popular female singers of our era.
