Solo artist and Fleetwood Mac member Stevie Nicks was scheduled for a tour of solo concerts in the back half of 2021. However, as COVID-19 hospitalizations have increased due to the surge of the Delta variant, the singer has decided to cancel her tour indefinitely, following suit on several other musical acts including Jason Isbell, Limp Bizkit and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

“While I’m vaccinated, at my age I am still being extremely cautious and for that reason have decided to skip the five performances I had planned for 2021,” Nicks said. “These are challenging times with challenging decisions that have to be made. I want everyone to be safe and healthy and the rising Covid cases should be of concern to all of us.”

Nicks was supposed to perform at four venues in California, Colorado, Texas and Louisiana. Three of those shows will be going on without her, but the fourth one, the New Orleans jazz and heritage festival, has been cancelled entirely due to the upswing of Louisiana COVID cases versus its notably low rate of vaccination. The event organizers said that the cancellation was caused by the “current exponential growth of new COVID cases in New Orleans and the region and the ongoing public health emergency”.
