Sony PS5 release date confirmed for November
Sony just announced the heavy-anticipated release date for the new PlayStation 5 along with prices for the different editions. The PlayStation 5 will officially hit the market on November 12 and pre-sales are available starting today with select retailers.
The 5th generation PlayStation will cost $499.99 and the Digital Edition $399.99 that is set to compete against Microsoft’s Xbox Series S ($299) and Xbox Series X ($499) that will be released on November 10. The PS5 release dates will apply to certain countries including the US, South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, China, Mexico, and Australia.

Sony plans on gradually releasing new PS5 games but the new PlayStation model will be compatible with PS4 games but is expected to release more games as the holidays approach. Sony is also using this highly-anticipated game release to convince customers to consider getting the new PS5 model.
Gamers can do a pre-order for the PS5 with retailers including GameStop, Sony, Best Buy, Target, and Amazon. All the pre-orders are set to ship on the official release date on Nov. 12 and Sony has yet to confirm whether they will be offering Black Friday deals before the holidays.
