Parents looking for some ways to make their kids eat healthy food in the U.S have something new to try. A new Hip Hop album containing 19 tracks has hit the stands. All 19 tracks contain relevant messages regarding the benefits of consuming healthy food and leading a healthy lifestyle for kids. The album, named” Songs for a Healthier America”, has been primarily designed to help kids to make healthy choices, including eating healthy food and exercising regularly.
Major Highlights
One of the major highlights of this album is the appearance of the first lady Michelle Obama in one of the songs that goes by the lyrics “Everybody”. The creators of the album have edited the first lady’s “let’s move” public service announcement into that particular song. The “Everybody” song sung by Jordin Sparks urges kids to eat healthy food through the lines “You gotta work hard, eat right, feeling good starts on the inside”. This song forms the first track of the album. This song also features Dr.Oz showing his dancing skills. Dr Oz actually announced the creation of this album when he was participating in one of his shows on June 3, 2013. The track “Everybody” was released earlier this week. The entire album containing 18 other tracks would be released in another month.
Reaction from the First Lady’s Office
When contacted regarding the appearance of he first lady in this video, the first lady’s office gave the information that this album project is not actually the project of the first lady. The first lady had given her consent to include her famous lines as the album is solely focused on propagating the importance of staying and eating healthy for kids. She wanted to support the message carried by the various tracks in the album.
About the Album
The album “Songs for a Healthier America” is a collaborative work of the Partnership for a Healthier America and Hip Hop Public Health. Though the album cannot be classified under a typical hip-hop title, the album contains most of the trademark moves and grooves associated with hip-hop music. The album comes with all the features associated with hip-hop including fresh beats, guest verses and a collection of different rap stars appearing at different points in the album.
Dr. Oz had mentioned that the sole objective of this album is to support Michelle Obama’s vision for a healthier tomorrow. The album will also contain spoken words of the first lady. The entire album is expected to be released in September.
The first lady’s campaign for a healthier life style for kids has being gaining momentum and this album is one proof of that. The album will also be available as a free download on September 30. The album will also include other genres of music like country and jazz. Some of the other songs that will form part of the album include “U R what you Eat”, “Veggie Love”, “We like Vegetables” and “Get up Sit Up”.
