Missing actress launched man hunt
“Glee” actress Naya Rivera is missing after Ventura, California authorities found her 4-year-old son alone on a boat she rented on Lake Piru on July 8. Rivera rented a boat from a local facility and the search started when Rivera was late to return the rental, eventually authorities located the boat, and only Rivera’s son, Josey Dorsey, was found alone on the boat.
After further investigation, authorities presume Rivera was not wearing a life vest upon her disappearance as all adult life vests were present on the rental boat. Ventura County Sheriff’s Department reports that they found the toddler unharmed and Josey is in good health after a health examination.
The search efforts for Rivera continued all-day Wednesday with by air along with a dive team and called off later that night, continuing Thursday morning. Authorities are looking at a possible drowning and will continue looking for Rivera in the lake with some of the deepest points up to 40 feet with a lot of debris on the bed of the lake.
As the search continues, Rivera’s son is safe and healthy with her family through this traumatic time.
